How does Split AI Check scan a receipt?
Open Scan, photograph the check, and our AI reads each line — item names, quantities, prices, tax, and tip. You can edit any misread line before you split.
Do I have to sign in?
You can browse the site without an account. Signing in with Google or X saves your people, payment methods, tax defaults, and bill history across devices.
Can I split some items and keep others whole?
Yes. Assign a dish to one person, or tap Split to share it. When quantity and people don’t divide evenly (3 tacos, 2 people), use Distribute to set who gets how many.
How are tax and tip calculated?
Tax follows each item’s category (food, drinks, alcohol) and your saved location or custom rates. Tip uses your default percentage and is split with the people on the bill.
